Our Story

Preflight Upholstery was born from two things that have been part of Rick's life since childhood: a love of aviation and a talent for working with his hands. Growing up in Vero Beach, weekends often meant scenic flights out of the local aerodrome with family and friends, trips to Orlando and back, and a lifetime of memories made around airplanes. That connection to the flying community never left. 

After nearly 20 years in the upholstery trade, working across cars, boats, aircraft, patio furniture, and awnings, Rick stepped away to focus on what mattered most: raising his kids. When the time came to return, he didn't just want to go back to work. He wanted to build something that gave back to the community he grew up in, served the aviation world he loves, and stood for the kind of quality and craftsmanship that's harder and harder to find. Preflight is that something.
